Carmine launches its fifth issue in a series of documentary
chapbooks with a
reading on "Perspective," featuring new work by poets: Julia Cole,
Elaine Sexton,
Jeet
Thayil,
Aaron Smith, Charles Flowers, Judy Katz, Jim Elledge, Yerra
Sugarman,
David Groff, Susan Scheid, Michelle Yasmine Valladares, Peg
Peoples,
Dan Shea, Theresa Burns, Kenny Hart, Sina Queyras Catherine Barnett
and others.
Poets will read two poems each.
This
issue features Megan Craig’s cityscapes based on her series "The
View
from
Here: Paintings from the 91st floor,
One
World
Trade
Center,"
a studiospace
she
worked in from June to September
11, 2001.
Craig will give a short talk
on
her perspective and how it has changed since
then.
